FILTER PROJECTS:
Navajeewan School Winterization
Navajeewan School’s newest 10-room building is currently a shell, standing open to the elements without doors or windows. We are partnering with the local community to winterize these classrooms and hostel facilities, protecting 579 students from the harsh Nuwakot winter.
Gogane School: Playground Safety
Gogane Primary School offers free education but faces a critical safety hazard: a dangerous 4-meter drop-off at the edge of the playground. We are constructing a reinforced safety wall and secure fencing to reclaim this space, allowing students to play safely once again.
Sewak Orphanage Upgrade – Digital & Library Drive
We are transforming Sewak Nepal Orphanage into a modern learning hub for its 38 residents. This project funds the construction of a new computer lab, a dedicated library, and a multipurpose activity room to provide orphaned children with essential digital literacy and creative spaces.
Shree Shwet Ganesh: Student Transport
At Shree Shwet Ganesh School, the greatest barrier to education for 320 students is the high cost of safe transportation. We are launching a structured trial to subsidize these essential travel costs, removing the financial burden on families and ensuring every child can reach the classroom safely and consistently.
Shree Dandaguan: Library of Hope
Shree Dandaguan Secondary School in Rasuwa is still recovering from the 2015 earthquake and lacks basic educational resources. We are establishing a fully equipped library and creative hub to ignite learning, promote gender equity, and provide lasting opportunities for children in this underserved community.
Jalpa Devi: Sanitation Upgrade
The current bathroom facilities at Jalpa Devi School are derelict and offer no privacy, particularly impacting female students. We are rebuilding the site into modern, gender-segregated blocks with proper handwashing stations to restore dignity and improve student health.
Jalpa Devi: Safe Drinking Water
Jalpa Devi School serves 300 students but lacks a modern, reliable source of safe drinking water. We are modernizing the existing infrastructure by installing new header tanks, piping, and advanced filters to ensure every child has consistent access to clean, purified water.
Satdobate: Regional Exam Center
Rural students currently trek up to 15km to reach the nearest government-approved exam center. We are upgrading Satdobate School to achieve official status, creating a regional hub that allows 300 students from 40 villages to sit their life-changing exams closer to home.
Navajeewan Secondary School Library
Shree Navajeewan serves 570 students with a unique curriculum focused on agricultural science and horticulture. We are constructing a specialized library facility to house the technical resources and textbooks necessary for students to master sustainable farming and small business management.
Satdobate School Bathroom upgrade
Earthquake damage left the bathroom blocks at Satdobate School unusable for years, forcing 350 students to share only two functional stalls. We are renovating these structures to provide modern, hygienic, and gender-segregated sanitation facilities that restore dignity and health to the student body.
Tribhuvan School Library Project
Despite trekking over an hour each way to reach school, the 228 students of Shree Tribhuvan lacked a dedicated space for research and reading. We have refitted a central classroom into a comfortable, fully-stocked library hub to reward their dedication and support their academic grow
Simrang Chaur Basic School Library
Founded by the monumental efforts of the local community, this school serves 116 students beneath the Ganesh Himal. We partnered with the village to create a vibrant "Heartspace" library, providing custom furniture and a curated collection of books to foster a lifelong love of reading.
Gogane Primary School Library
Born from a "Sister School" partnership with Kaitoke Primary in New Zealand, this library proves that no distance is too great to help a friend. The project provides 50 students in the remote village of Gogane with modern learning materials and ongoing school supplies.
Bhawani School Bathroom Block
With 765 pupils and 21 teachers, Bhawani School is a major regional hub that was left with inadequate sanitation after the 2015 quakes. We completed a modern, stone-masonry bathroom block that provides safe, private, and hygienic facilities for the entire school community.
Salme Secondary School Library
Dedicated to the memory of mountain guide Midori Suzuki, this library serves 540 students in one of the regions hardest hit by the earthquakes. This learning sanctuary helps bridge the gap for students facing a high teacher-to-student ratio by providing tools for independent study.
Bhawani School Windows and Doors
Unfinished earthquake repairs left the classrooms at Bhawani School exposed to freezing winter winds and rain. We installed 10 heavy-duty doors and 40 windows to fully seal the building, ensuring 765 students can learn in a warm, dry, and focused environment.
Bhawani School Classroom Furniture
To address extreme overcrowding where up to 85 students shared a single room, we manufactured custom desks and benches on-site using local builders. This project ensures every student has a dedicated place to sit and a stable surface to write.
Sarsyu Secondary School Library
Sarsyu village lost 90% of its homes in 2015, yet the community’s commitment to education remained unshaken. We established a state-of-the-art library and digital lab for 600 students, including the employment of a professional librarian to manage the facility.
Sidhing Primary School Library
What began as a chance encounter with a local kindergarten teacher led to the transformation of a forgotten school in the Annapurna foothills. We refitted an existing classroom into a bright, stocked library and provided essential winter clothing for every student.
Fikuri Village Medical Clinic
To combat high infant mortality rates in rural Nepal, we partnered with medical professionals to refit the Fikuri Clinic with sterile birthing equipment. This project provides life-saving oxygen, specialized birthing beds, and neonatal tools for mothers across the region.
Aiselu Bhume School Library
After 16 of their 20 classrooms were flattened, the students of Khule village were forced into temporary bamboo shelters. We replaced these with a permanent library and computer lab, providing 2,000 new books and modern technology to 600 students.
Satdobate Secondary School Library
This was the very first Active Hearts project, nearly lost to the earthquake just days before its opening. Today, it serves as our flagship regional hub, providing library and lab resources for 900 students ranging from primary age to university level.
Gogane Village Pipeline Project
When the 2015 earthquake destroyed the local irrigation system, the village’s food security was at risk. We funded a 1.2km high-durability pipeline, installed by 80 local families, to restore water to the fields and save the annual rice harvest for 2,000 people.
Earthquake Relief Monsoon Shelters
In the immediate aftermath of the 2015 disaster, we deployed rapid-assembly "tunnel shelters" to families living under tarpaulins. These temporary homes provided safe, dry ground during the monsoon season and were later repurposed into permanent roofing and greenhouses.
