Emergency Flood Relief
On 26 August 2026, a sudden landslide and flash flood originating near the Tibet border swept through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli River valleys, heavily impacting communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. Early indications are that entire villages have been swept away.
This has affected families and villages in areas deeply connected to Active Hearts. These are communities that have welcomed us into their homes, shared their lives with us and become part of our extended family.
With major road links cut off and essential bridges washed away, remaining villages face immediate isolation and widespread disruption. Working through our established, long-standing connections in this region, Active Hearts Foundation will be coordinating with local communities to deliver practical relief where it is needed most.
How You Can Help
Right now, the urgent need is monetary donations to enable us to support families and communities with direct assistance; shelter, water, food and medicine. Our network in the affected areas will co-ordinate the distribution of aid in the coming weeks.
Over time we are almost certainly going to commence new projects to help rebuild and replace destroyed community and schooling infrastructure. Whether it is a clean water source or helping to rebuild a school, we will be working hard to help with the recovery. Watch this page for new projects as the recovery proceeds and the most urgent needs become clearer.
For immediate updates, we’ll be sharing information across our social media channels as we hear from our team on the ground.
