Putting safety first with a school bus
For many children in rural Nepal, the biggest barrier to education is the journey to get to school. Safety risks associated with long walks on steep and unpredictable terrain can deter students from attending school.
Active Hearts is a proud supporter of the Shree Shwet Ganesh school bus program. Providing students with a reliable, and supervised way to get to school safely every day.
With the bus on the road, the journey continues to source sustainable funding for ongoing fuel, maintenance, and driver costs.
Community effort
In additional news, the Shree Shwet Ganesh school grounds are also undergoing a major transformation. Construction is now underway of new classrooms and a toilet and sanitation block.
These projects are being funded and managed by an NGO partner, providing a great example of how grassroots organisations are working in parallel to improve school infrastructure for children in Nepal.
