Banepa, Nepal — There is a special kind of energy at the Shree Shwet Ganesh School lately.
Safety First: The Transport Initiative
For many children in rural Nepal, the biggest barrier to education isn't the classroom — it’s the journey to get there. Long walks on steep, unpredictable terrain can be a major safety risk and a deterrent to attendance.
Active Hearts Foundation is incredibly proud to support the Shwet Ganesh School Bus Program. This initiative ensures that students have a reliable, safe, and supervised way to get to school every day. By removing the physical barrier of the commute, we are helping ensure these kids arrive ready to learn.
A Community Effort: Beyond Transport
While our current focus is on keeping the wheels turning, the school grounds are also undergoing a major transformation. You may have noticed the construction in our recent field photos—ground has been broken for new classrooms and a toilet and sanitation block.
While these specific projects are being funded and managed by another NGO partner, we are thrilled to see this investment in the school's infrastructure. It’s a beautiful example of how grassroots organizations can work in parallel to provide a holistic environment for child welfare.
How You Can Help
The bus is on the road, but the journey continues. Monthly fuel, maintenance, and driver costs are ongoing. Your support of the Shree Shwet Ganesh Transport Initiative directly impacts the daily lives of these students.
