Sewak Nepal Orphanage – A Trusted Partner Creating Real Change
Sewak Nepal Orphanage has been one of Active Hearts Foundation’s most trusted and inspiring partners since 2022, when we first began supporting their essential overheads, school uniforms, and examination fees. Over the years, this relationship has grown into a strong, reliable partnership grounded in exceptional transparency, responsible management, and proactive communication. Sewak Nepal consistently stands out as one of our most organised and streamlined partner homes, supported by a committed mix of volunteers and paid staff who work together to create a safe, nurturing environment for the 38 children in their care.
AHF has proudly facilitated knowledge-sharing sessions between Sewak Nepal and other community homes, helping spread their effective management practices, food-production techniques, and child-care systems. As part of our safeguarding commitment, Sewak Nepal also upholds AHF’s Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct, ensuring high standards of safety and wellbeing.
Our relationship deepened further in 2024 with a donation of NPR 316,440 for new school uniforms and stationery. Regular visits and consistent communication have reinforced our confidence in their vision and long-term commitment to the children.
Looking ahead, Sewak Nepal is one of AHF’s priority projects for 2026. The orphanage has identified several key upgrades to better serve its growing number of students: a new computer lab, a dedicated library, and an additional activity room for learning and indoor play. These improvements will significantly enhance the children’s access to digital tools, books, creativity, and safe spaces to grow.
A detailed proposal is underway, with the total estimated need now at NZD $15,000.
