Jalpa Devi School is in desperate need of a bathroom upgrade.
The school is located approximately 1.5h drive north from Kathmandu City in the Kakani municipality.
We wish to rebuild the small derelict bathroom building into a clean and functional facility with separate girls and boys bathroom blocks.

Support the Children of Jalpa Devi School: Help Provide Clean, Safe Facilities
Jalpa Devi School serves approximately 300 students, ranging from 5 to 12 years old, in a remote area north of Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. While the school is situated in a beautiful part of the country, it faces significant challenges, particularly when it comes to sanitation and basic infrastructure.
The Need for Change
Currently, the bathroom facilities at Jalpa Devi School are old, broken, and lack privacy. With no proper handwashing stations, the children’s health and hygiene are at risk. Access to clean and safe bathroom facilities is crucial for students, not just for hygiene but for their dignity and well-being.
After the devastating 2015 earthquakes, the school received funding to repair and rebuild, but those funds have long since been exhausted. The current bathroom facilities are now beyond repair and urgently need to be replaced.
The Project: Building New Bathrooms for Boys and Girls
This project will involve removing the old bathroom block and constructing two separate, modern bathroom blocks—one for boys and one for girls. Each block will include proper handwashing stations to promote cleanliness and hygiene.
Project Cost: $18,000 NZD (Approx. $11,000 USD)
The total cost for this essential project is $18,000 NZD (around $11,000 USD), which will cover the demolition of the old facilities and the construction of new, safe, and clean bathrooms. This investment will make a world of difference for the children at Jalpa Devi School, providing them with the basic facilities they deserve.
