Gogane, Nepal — At Active Hearts Foundation, we often talk about "wellbeing," but sometimes wellbeing starts with something very practical: a safety fence. We are thrilled to announce that we are in the final stages of the Gogane Primary School Playground Extension & Safety Boundary Wall Project.
A Critical Need for Safety
The Gogane Primary School is situated in a stunning but precarious location. For years, the school’s playground sat on the edge of a steep drop-off, making recess a source of anxiety rather than pure joy. To ensure the students can play, run, and thrive without risk, a massive engineering effort was required to secure the perimeter.
Scaling New Heights
The project involved constructing a substantial retaining wall and a high-tensile safety fence along the mountain edge. As you can see from the latest field photos, the scale of this effort has been immense. Our teams have worked through challenging terrain to ensure the foundation is rock-solid and the fencing is secure.
This isn't just a construction project; it’s an investment in the peace of mind of every parent and teacher in the Gogane community. By extending the playground area behind the safety of this new wall, we’ve effectively doubled the usable space for the children to enjoy.
Impact Beyond the Bricks
Seeing the "massive effort" on the ground transform into a safe haven for these students is what drives us. This project is a perfect example of our commitment to physical infrastructure that directly supports child welfare in the Himalayas.
We are so proud of the team’s hard work and the incredible support from our donors that made this "safety first" initiative possible.
