Banepa, Nepal — A new initiative is officially underway: The School Lunch Program at Shree Shwet Ganesh School.

Education and health go hand-in-hand. It is incredibly difficult to inspire a mind or foster a love for learning when a child is struggling to focus through the fog of hunger. For many children in remote Himalayan communities, a lack of access to a nutritious daily meal remains one of the greatest barriers to regular school attendance and academic success.

This new project tackles the challenge head-on. By introducing a sustainable, wholesome daily lunch program at Shree Shwet Ganesh School, the initiative ensures that every student has the physical fuel required to grow, thrive, and stay fully engaged in the classroom.

Why This Matters

When children receive a reliable, healthy meal at school, the transformation is immediate. Attendance rates climb, classroom concentration spikes, and parents are given peace of mind knowing their children are being properly nourished while they learn. This program is about more than just food—it is about creating a stable foundation for a healthier, brighter future.

How You Can Help

As a grassroots organization, every single drop in the bucket counts. This program relies entirely on the generosity of the global community to keep the kitchen running and the plates full.

More information about the project including how many students and which year levels can be found by visiting the dedicated project page.

One drop of water is the start of a mighty river. Namaste.
