We are so stoked and blessed to have our good friend Matt Sloan from Chicago, USA on the Hearts team! Matt is a teacher at New Trier High School and the mastermind behind The Sloan Advisory. This is very cool group of talented, hardworking young men that endevour to contribute to their community and the world through fundraisers and projects.
Thank you guys for your selfless work, you are awesome!!
Matt and Dk spent an awesome two weeks hiking around the South Island New Zealand on a tour with Active Adventures. Matt being the good guy that he is wanted to help Active Hearts out. Being a teacher himself supporting our librarians in the Active Hearts libraries in Nepal was most appealing.
A word from Matt,
The Sloan Advisory, a group of 16 and 17 year old boys, at New Trier High School, USA is running a fundraiser during the second half of October to benefit the Active Hearts Foundation library projects. The boys have taken up the goal to collect donations by talking to family and friends about the great work Active Hearts is doing on in rural Nepal. We hope to support a librarian’s salary for the year ahead as well as purchase and/or upgrade resources in the libraries.
The boys are honored and proud to support the fantastic work being done by Active Hearts Foundation’s on behalf of the Nepali citizens as we wholeheartedly believe in the positive role education can play in the betterment of an individual’s life
New Trier Township High School is a comprehensive four-year high school along the Lake
Michigan shore and approximately 16 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, USA. The district serves
about 4,000 students and the grades/year groups are divided up into single gender adviseries
or homerooms where we start our day together.
Our school motto, “To commit minds to inquiry, hearts to compassion, and lives to the service of
humanity.” © also aligns with the great work being done by Active Hearts and our fundraiser.
