Shree Simrang Chaur Basic School Library Project

 

Shree Simrang Chaur Basic School is a wonderful little school located in Kispang Rural Municipality, Nuwakot Nepal beneath the majestic Ganesh Himal mountain ranges. It is situated in the rural part of the district and the school motto is 'Providing Education to the Poorest of the Poor' 

It is a public government school and after a huge effort from the local community it was officially established in 1999.

In total there are 9 class years taught at the school from pre- primary to class eight. The students travel to school on foot and currently there is insufficient clean drinking water, no security fencing and a need for a library. The school has a lunch program aimed at providing nutritious food locally sourced. There is a total of 116 students and 11 teachers and the facility consists of 3 buildings with 15 classrooms.

Active Hearts Foundation is committed to providing a library facility for Shree Simrang Chaur Basic School.

The estimated costs are 560,000 NPR approx. $7000 NZD

Please assist us in creating a safe, functional library learning facility for the students of Shree Simrang Chaur Basic School.

Once the money is raised, we will oversee the build and refit of the designated library room, assist in the purchase and delivery of the new library books requested and provide guidance during a transitional period towards self-management.

We have a completion goal of November 1^st, 2023.

This project is a special priority project for the ‘Heartspace Expeditions Charity Trek 2023’

The international guests joining the 2023 Heartspace Expeditions trek will be fundraising for this Library project. They will be special guests at the opening ceremony and have an opportunity to visit the finished library project when they visit Nepal in November 2023.
